[Mobile Sample] Dr. Zeba Mahmud is a medical doctor with an MPhil in nutrition and more than 20 years of experience in nutrition programming and research. Prior to joining Alive & Thrive, she was director of nutrition for the BRAC Institute of Global Health (BIGH). In this role, she led BIGH’s work on nutrition research, training, and education and engaged the Government of Bangladesh, international organizations, and other stakeholders in policy dialogue on nutrition policies and program development. She also worked as country director of the Micronutrient Initiative in Bangladesh — supporting national actions to eliminate vitamin and mineral deficiencies to improve the health and well being of the people of Bangladesh. From 1993 to 2003, she pioneered and led the government’s National Nutrition Program on behalf of BRAC. Early in her career as a medical professional, she performed preventive and clinical services in rural communities. She has published several papers on nutrition and presented at numerous national and international conferences and meetings. -
